Liane Fernandes

Director

Liane Fernandes is the Vice President of Ontario at the Canadian Red Cross where she currently leads a dedicated team focused on community health and emergency management, helping people and communities across the province in times of need and supporting them in strengthening their resilience. 

 

Respected as an authentic and collaborative leader, Liane has been instrumental in transforming the health sector in Ontario for over twenty years. Prior to joining the Canadian Red Cross in May of 2022, Liane held executive roles at Ontario Health and the Mississauga Halton LHIN. Her passion to make a positive difference in the lives of others has driven priority system integration activities in seniors care, mental health and addictions and health equity. She has a stellar record in guiding teams and organizations through complex change, building trust, and strong partnerships across sectors, diverse communities and all levels of government.

 

Liane has Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Therapy and a Master’s Degree in Health Administration from the University of Toronto where she currently holds an adjunct faculty appointment at the Dalla Lana School of Public Health. She is also a graduate of the Advanced Health Leadership Program from the Rotman School of Business and a Certified Health Executive with the Canadian College of Health Leaders.

 

A proud mother of 3 beautiful children, Liane loves to spend time with family and friends, travelling and exploring exciting new food venues.
