Step 4: Create your Campaign

Where and how do you plan to run your campaign?

With a clear sense of your goals, your ideal volunteer, and your core messages, you’re now ready to identify the right channels and activities to help you reach your ideal volunteer.

We've put together
this guide to help you choose your campaign channels & activities.

Here are some helpful tips to consider as you finalize your campaign plan:

  • Don’t try to be everywhere and do everything all at once. Focus on 1-3 channels for reaching your ideal volunteers. Remember that part of this process is simply testing which channels will get the best traction for recruiting volunteers on an ongoing basis.
  • Identity what kinds of activities you’ll do on each platform. There are many ways to share your message and get the word out, so think strategically about what types of content might work best for reaching your ideal volunteers.
  • Concentrate your efforts. Unless your campaign is evergreen (i.e. will be running all the time), you’ll want to pick a campaign start date and end date so you can plan and measure accordingly. Posting about the same thing over a condensed period of time helps your message be seen by more people.
